Drag. Drop. Done.

Dragy moves files, folders, text and links between all your devices. On the same Wi-Fi they go straight from device to device; everywhere else they travel end-to-end encrypted. No account needed to start.

What Dragy does

One drop. Any device.

Pick where it goes, drop it, done. Dragy finds your devices, chooses the fastest safe route and encrypts everything on the way — you just see it arrive.

  • Drop onto the devices you pick

Select one device or several, then drag files onto Dragy — or tap to choose them. Everything goes to every device you picked, at once.

  • Nearby, no account

Devices on the same network find each other automatically under friendly names like “Swift Otter”. Don’t want to be seen? Turn it off.

  • Anywhere, with a code

Different networks, no account? Share a 12-character code or scan the QR. The code is also the encryption secret — our server only ever sees a hash of it.

  • Any file. Any size. Whole folders.

Photos, videos, documents, archives — any format, any size. Folders arrive with their structure intact, and quick text snippets and links travel just as easily.

  • Share links for everyone else

Signed in, you can turn files into an encrypted link for someone who doesn’t use Dragy. Choose when it expires — 1 hour to 7 days — and how many times it can be downloaded: once, 10 times or unlimited.

With a free account

Your devices, always in orbit.

Sign in on each device and they all appear around you — at home, at work, or on the other side of the world. Select one or several, drop your files, and get on with your day.

  • Sign in by scanning

Add a new device by scanning a QR code from one that’s already signed in. No password typing on a tiny keyboard.

  • Accepted automatically

Files you send to your own devices simply arrive — no “accept?” prompt. It’s a setting, so you can switch it off.

  • Offline? It waits.

If a device is switched off, files wait end-to-end encrypted in the cloud and are delivered when it comes back — then deleted. Kept for up to 7 days, with 5 GB per account and up to 5 GB per transfer.

On your computer

A folder that sends.

The desktop app creates a Dragy folder — on your Desktop by default, or wherever you choose — with a Send to … folder for each of your devices. Drop files in and they’re on their way. Everything you receive lands in Dragy/Received.

  • “Send to → Dragy” in Explorer

On Windows, right-click any file and send it with Dragy from the familiar Send to menu.

  • Lives in the tray and menu bar

Dragy stays out of the way in the system tray or macOS menu bar, ready when a file arrives.

  • Starts at login

Turn it on and your computer is always ready to receive — no app to remember to open.

How it moves

The shortest safe path. Every time.

You never choose a route — Dragy tries the most direct one first and falls back only when it has to. And whichever path a file takes, it’s end-to-end encrypted before it leaves your device.

  1. 1

    Local network

Same Wi-Fi or LAN? Files go device-to-device over WebRTC and never leave your local network.

  2. 2

    Direct

Different networks? Your devices connect peer-to-peer over the internet — still no stop in between.

  3. 3

    Encrypted relay

When a direct connection isn’t possible, our server passes the data along. It only ever forwards ciphertext, and stores nothing.

  4. 4

    Cloud, for offline devices

Sending to your own device while it’s off? The files wait end-to-end encrypted for up to 7 days, are delivered when it’s back, then deleted.

To help devices find a direct path, Dragy uses Cloudflare’s STUN service (stun.cloudflare.com). It only helps set up the connection and never handles your files.

Private by design

Your files are yours. We can’t open them.

Encryption happens on your device, before anything moves. Our server helps devices meet — it never gets your file names, contents or keys.

  • Encrypted on your device

Every transfer gets fresh random keys and is sealed with AES-256-GCM. Each chunk is authenticated, so nothing can be altered, reordered or cut short without it showing.

  • Keys that never leave

Each signed-in device makes its own key pair, and its private key never leaves it. Transfers between your devices are mutually authenticated by those keys.

  • Check the emoji

Anonymous Nearby transfers show five verification emoji on both screens — if they match, you’re talking to the right device. Codes authenticate code-based sessions.

  • A server that knows little

It sees your account email and a scrypt password hash, device names, types and public keys, and the size and time of stored transfers. Never names, contents or keys.

  • No ads. No tracking. No cookies.

No analytics, no advertising, no third-party trackers — in the apps or on this site. The app keeps only its own settings in local storage.

  • Two-step verification

Add an authenticator app (TOTP) to your Dragy account for a second step at sign-in. Optional, and a good idea.

Questions

Good to know.

The short answers. There’s more in the full FAQ.

Do I need an account?

No. Devices on the same network see each other automatically, and you can connect anywhere with a 12-character code or QR. A free account adds your own devices everywhere, delivery to offline devices and share links.

Is there a file size limit?

Not for live transfers — any file, any size, any format. Files that wait in the cloud for an offline device can be up to 5 GB per transfer, with 5 GB per account.

Can Dragy see my files?

No. Everything is encrypted on your device before it moves, and the keys stay with your devices. Our relay and cloud only ever handle ciphertext, and never get file names.

Do my files go through the internet on the same Wi-Fi?

No. On the same Wi-Fi or LAN, files go directly from device to device and never leave your local network.

Is Dragy free?

Yes. Dragy is free to use, with or without a free account — and with no ads.
